Cuban Doctors to Bolivia
Monday, January 02, 2006 By: Juan Paxety
5000 doctors to the Cocaine Commando
If she can't practice in Florida, maybe Amandla Mitchell can go to Bolivia. Cuba's bearded bastard and Bolivia's cocaine commando signed an agreement over the weekend to send 5000 Cuban trained doctors to Bolivia, the Vietnam News Agency reports.
Under the agreemeny signed in Havana on Dec. 30, 2005, which will run into effect as of January 22 when Morales assumes power, the number does not include the Bolivians currently studying medicine in Cuba.
Havana will supply Bolivia with high technology equipment and ophthalmology experts needed in early stages .Cubawill also provide expertise, didactic materials and technical means for Bolivia to carry out a literacy programme, according to Prensa Latina news agency
We've already seen that the importation of Cuban doctors has had disastrous effects on Venezuela's medical system - and Paraguay shipped home its Cuban doctors, accusing them of spying.
And South Africa is rethinking its Cuban medical program. It says the program is financially unsteady.
