From Net For Cuba

PRESS RELEASE
August 16, 2005

MARTHA BEATRIZ ROQUE AND VLADIMIRO ROCA MEET WITH PROMINENT U.S. SENATOR

This afternoon, Martha Beatriz Roque, leader of the Asamblea para Promover la Sociedad Civil and Vladimiro Roca, leader of Todos Unidos, met with Senator Arlin Specter (Republican for Pennsylvania), who is the president (sic) of the Judicial Committee of the Unites States Senate.

The meeting took place at the residence of James Cason, who is in charge of the U.S. Interest Section in Havana and who was also present.

During this meeting, both opposition leaders had the opportunity, among other things to inform the Senator of the recent wave of repression against members of the democratic opposition groups within Cuba, of which they themselves have been victims.
