GM Owners, Turn On Your Headlights
Tuesday, June 21, 2005 By: Juan Paxety
The curse of automatic headlamps
It's 6:05AM. It's June 21, it's beginning to get light out, but everyone with sense is using headlights. You're all like driving your small GM car along on a four-lane divided highway - in the left hand lane, of course. Your car is like gray, the road is like gray, the sky is like gray and stuff. You are driving up an incline over a bridge that crosses the San Pablo river. As always, there is fog. The fog is like gray, too.
And because your little GM car has those dinky lights on the front that come on when you crank up the car, you don't bother to turn on your real headlights. You can see, so why worry about anyone else? BECAUSE THOSE AUTOMATIC LIGHTS DON'T TURN ON YOUR TAILLIGHTS. Someone approaching you from the rear, in the fog and dark, can't see you until it's almost too late. GM owners, turn on your damn headlights, dammit.
