Crybaby Brits Can't Go To Cuba
Tuesday, May 10, 2005 By: Juan Paxety
About 200 Brits are crying because they can't enjoy 5-star accommodations in Cuba this summer - and, of course, the U.S. is to blame. The Guardian reports that an American company, Cendent, has acquired a number of British travel agencies. In the last couple of weeks, the company has told all of its subsidiaries, including one called Ebookers, to stop booking travel to Cuba because doing so violates the U.S. embargo.
In a statement, Ebookers said: "The position with respect to Cuba was initially unclear but once it was confirmed that certain bookings needed to be cancelled, all appropriate action including means of compensating customers was taken and communicated as quickly as possible."
The Guardian says some of the Brits are furious. Perhaps they should direct their fury at the bearded bastard who is enslaving his people.
